2. Drain the water out of semi cooked toor dhal
3. Boil two tomatoes with salt and 2 garlic cloves in 1 cup water for 5 minutes. Mash the tomatoes.
4. Heat oil, add mustard, jeera, urad dhal, methi powder, curry leaves, red chilli, rasam powder, black pepper powder
5. When the mustard starts sputtering, add dhal water, mashed tomato mixture, salt, coriander leaves and boil for 15 minutes on medium flame.
